B Corp (short for Benefit Corporation) is a certification awarded to companies that go above and beyond in their social and environmental responsibility. How does the certification work?

To become and remain a certified B Corp, companies must undergo a rigorous assessment process. It begins with the B Impact Assessment, where B Lab evaluates the company’s social and environmental performance through over 200 questions. The evaluation covers topics such as supplier and customer relationships, working conditions, community involvement, resource usage, and environmental impact. A company can only be certified if it includes a legal commitment to social and environmental responsibility in its governing documents.

Wie lange ist die Zertifizierung gültig?

How long is the certification valid?


The B Corp certification is valid for three years. After that, companies must go through the assessment process again and prove that their efforts remain impactful and aligned with B Corp standards.
